Business payroll system can accommodate flexitime and annual contracts

A senior union leader has warned the Government that talks aimed at averting strikes were now in "jeopardy". The criticism from Dave Prentis, general secretary of Unison, followed an expected announcement from ministers that public sector workers will have to pay up to £3,000 a year more to keep up their pension schemes. Mr Prentis added: "These talks are being put in jeopardy by the crude and naïve tactics of Government ministers who don't seem to understand the word negotiate." Tensor's ultimate Time & Attendance WinTAnet system combines the requirements of payroll, rostering, job costing and more for your business. It handles all major hours calculation methods, from simple determination of overtime by the number of daily hours worked to the more complex payment of overtime hours adjusted when periodic targets are not met. It can accommodate the formal flexitime contracts worked by many public sector employees. Workers paid on an annual contract basis can be handled by the annualised hours procedures and reports within WinTAnet.

Security product immediately prints report if a fire occurs at the office

A 200 metre cordon had to be put around a fire on open ground because there was danger that an acetylene cylinder would explode. The incident was first reported on Wednesday (August 3) at Rhondda Cynon Taf in South-East Wales. Officers from South Wales Police said the area will stay closed until the fire service gives the all-clear. Fire officials revealed they left the blaze to cool overnight and were going back this morning to assess the situation. Tensor's security and clocking products can be integrated with fire roll call software that will print a report if a fire or other emergency occurs. The immediate fire roll call reports are generated containing the crucial information concerning who is on site. Workers at your office or factory simply log themselves on and off site using either their contactless smart card or key fob. An evacuation list containing the details recorded by the clocking stations is then printed at a safe pre-determined remote point.

Office access control system handles most standard electronic door locks

Cable theft has this week caused transport delays in many parts of south-east England. Rail services in Essex and Cambridgeshire were severely hit after overhead power cables were stolen. Network Rail said the theft affected other overhead lines, some of which came down in Essex late on Wednesday (September 21). The Stansted Express and Broxbourne to Cambridge services have been suspended, National Express East Anglia said. The company added it did not expect trains to run until 13:00 BST. An access control security system from Tensor is ideal for use at a vulnerable or isolated depot or office, and can control most standard types of internal and external electronic door locks and releases. You are given total control over who is allowed access through any door on your access control network, at any time of the day. Access Lite is our entry-level smart card operated access control system, and issues speech warnings when a forced entry occurs. The sophisticated software monitors access patterns and the alarm status.

Site security network can configure doors to lock automatically on burglar alarms

A large amount of diesel stolen from two vehicles has been the latest in a series of recent fuel theft incidents. Thieves siphoned the substantial quantities of diesel from two trucks in east Surrey. Police believe the theft of fuel from a building site in Walton-on-Thames could be linked to this incident. Officers explained that as fuel becomes more expensive it becomes more attractive to thieves and urged all vehicle owners to take extra precautions. The access control software for all of Tensor Access door and site security systems has a familiar Windows™ interface, providing quick and easy access to information regarding potential breaches. A range of monitoring devices and releases can be connected to your security network, which can be operated through your access control software including: alarms and hooters, door release buttons, electro-magnetic door locks, fingerprint readers and scanners. The software can configure doors to lock automatically on burglar alarms. CCTV monitoring and barriers can be integrated for total security coverage.

Automatic barriers can operate alongside installed access control technology

A series of suspected arson attacks has probably permanently closed a community BMX bike track. The track in Wrexham cost £18,000 to complete, funded through grants and the local community council. Because the equipment was not insured the community council cannot afford to replace the burned wreckage. The track cost £11,000, mostly raised via grants, and the council added £7,000 for a site and soil survey, since it was on the site of a former tip. A Tensor security system for your premises can include automatic barriers and they are capable of operating alongside any installed access control or ticketing systems. All automatic car park barriers are supplied complete and are ready to accept power and data connections. Boom arms are available in a number of different lengths to suit various road widths. Optional extras include: a folding arm mechanism, impact release mechanism, hanging racks or barrier skirts and pedestals. Our experienced engineers can install each barrier, individually adjusting it to company specification.

HR management system accommodates flexitimepublic sector staff contracts

This week has been a case of ‘mind the pay gap’ after it was revealed Tube drivers will get £50,000 per year. London Underground (LU) says a new four-year wage deal negotiated with union leaders meant the pay of train drivers, currently around £46,000, will go over the £50,000 mark. Under the deal, LU staff will get a 5 per cent pay increase this year followed by RPI inflation plus 0.5% in the ensuing three years. Tensor’s WinTAnet Time & Attendance Management System combines the requirements of time and attendance, rostering and job costing, plus access control security. It can dramatically improve your HR management by supplying working rules to calculate the correct result. It contains special rules to accommodate the formal flexitime contracts worked by many public sector employees. WinTAnet will predict the most appropriate shift depending on when an employee starts work. Each type of pattern can be set up to override the normal pattern and use a specific shift on public holidays.

Workplace clocking stations can connect to a fire alarm panel to aid health and safety

Eight people were hurt after an explosion and fire caused devastation at an industrial estate in Surrey. Of the eight who received injuries, two are thought to have sustained serious burns. One of them was airlifted to a London hospital, while the others were taken to nearby hospitals. One witness Natalie Dugdale told Sky News she heard three explosions and could see "masses and masses of smoke". She said fire officers told her the blast was caused by recycled printer toner. Tensor smart card security and time and attendance scanning products can be integrated with fire roll call hardware and software that will aid health and safety at the workplace. The software will automatically generate a report in the event of a fire or other emergency. The reports are generated containing the crucial information concerning who is on site so every staff member onsite can be accounted for. Tensor’s T32xx clocking stations have hardware links that can connect to a fire alarm panel.

Advanced time and attendance product works with major payroll systems

The UK government is expected to respond fully within the next month to a report which says the railway industry could make annual savings of £1bn. The independent report pushes forward the use of machines to replace ticket offices currently provided and staffed by rail company employees. Rail consumer watchdog Passenger Focus said ticket machines were "second rate" compared to a staffed ticket office. The Department of Transport said it is reviewing staffing options. WinTA Enterprise is the flagship Windows™ based time and attendance product from Tensor. Its modular design can link to Tensor Access Enterprise and Tensor Personnel Enterprise. Powerful individual and group absence planners as well as comprehensive user-definable working patterns, rosters and annualised hours are just some of its advanced features. The Export to Payroll function links to Sage, Pegasus, Centrefile, Unipay and other systems. The T32xx Clocking Station works independently of the PC if the PC is switched off or fails and has digital outputs to control door locks, fire alarms and wall clocks.

Automatic number plate recognition technology can be added to business security

Officers from the Warwickshire and Leicestershire police forces mounted a joint operation and used automatic number plate recognition technology to catch a gang of criminals. As a result the men were arrested in a ‘sting’ to clamp down upon metal thefts and burglary along the A5 road, which runs through both counties. A variety of goods which were believed to have been stolen were recovered. Automatic number plate recognition technology can be incorporated into a Tensor access control, visitor control, barrier or digital CCTV system. There are now many methods available for businesses to monitor movement and access within a specific area. Completely upgradable, your network can be expanded quickly and easily by simply installing additional cameras. In addition, you are not restricted to the type of camera you wish to install as the CCTV software is able to support all cameras within our product range. Picture quality of a digital CCTV system is evidence quality and is far superior to that of an analogue system.

Clocking software activates breaks after a minimum number of hours worked

A proposal to keep 24-hour cover for Windsor fire station will go to public consultation on Monday (October 3) for three months and if approved the round the clock service will start in April 2012. This ends a five-year battle to save the town's station from night-time closure. The Fire Authority agreed a proposal for the cover using a smaller fire engine and fewer crew at a council meeting on Wednesday. Tensor Time & Attendance systems deal with staff clocking and hours issues in the quickest and most efficient way available on the market. Our Time and Attendance networks such as WinTAnet can supply working rules to calculate the correct result. A number of basic rules control how hours are calculated by the software. These include settings to separate ‘worked time’ into different overtime rates, to handle night shift working and paid or unpaid breaks. You can also enable breaks to activate between set times, and/or after a minimum number of hours have been worked.
