Tensor Achieves ISO 27001

Back in December, Tensor proudly achieved the International Organisation for Standardisation ISO/IEC 27001, a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to information security and data protection.

But what exactly is ISO 27001 and what does it mean for our customers?

The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) is an independent, non-governmental international body that develops globally recognised standards across a wide range of industries. These standards are voluntary, but organisations that adopt them demonstrate a clear commitment to quality, consistency, and continual improvement.

ISO standards help businesses streamline operations, reduce risk and implement best practices. For customers, they provide confidence, knowing that a company operates according to internationally agreed benchmarks.

ISO/IEC 27001 is the leading international standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). It provides a structured framework for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving information security within an organisation.

Rather than focusing on a single technology or control, ISO 27001 takes a holistic approach. It requires organisations to identify information security risks, assess the potential impact of those risks, implement appropriate controls to mitigate them and continuously monitor, review and improve security processes.

Certification confirms that a business has systematically examined how it manages sensitive information and has put robust safeguards in place to protect it.

Achieving the ISO 27001 certification demonstrates that Tensor has implemented a comprehensive Information Security Management System aligned with internationally recognised best practices. For our customers and partners, this provides real assurance. It means stronger data protection, with formal processes in place to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information we manage. It reflects a proactive approach to risk management, where potential information security risks are identified, assessed, and controlled through a structured and systematic framework rather than addressed reactively. It also demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement, as ISO 27001 requires ongoing monitoring, internal and external audits, and regular reviews to ensure our controls remain effective and resilient in an evolving threat landscape. Most importantly, independent certification offers greater transparency and trust, providing external validation of our dedication to protecting the information entrusted to us.

At Tensor PLC, information security is not just a compliance exercise, it is a fundamental part of how we operate. As technology continues to evolve and cyber threats become more sophisticated, maintaining strong governance and structured security management is essential.

ISO 27001 certification reinforces our commitment to protecting the information entrusted to us. It demonstrates that we have invested in robust systems, clear processes and a culture for security awareness across the organisation.

We are proud of this achievement and remain committed to continually strengthening our information security framework to support our customers now and in the future.
