Almost 50 percent of construction workers consider changing jobs in 2014

Almost 47 percent of all workers in the construction, engineering and built environment industries plan to look for jobs in other companies over the course of 2014, a new market research report has revealed.

Research carried out by CareerStructure.com suggests that over 58% of all employees contemplating the idea of changing employers are unhappy with their current salary and are looking for better pay. Additionally, the report also suggested that 60% of workers in the industry are unhappy with their current employee benefits, with 59% believing they would have better promotion prospects elsewhere.

A better pay package was the main driver for people looking to move, with close to 63% of employees asked quoting this as the thing they were looking to improve in a new role. The next biggest factor was job security at 57%.
