Barrier access control will tackle unauthorised parking

Under a radical overhaul, Cardiff council has taken over the enforcement of most of the parking laws from South Wales Police as part of a wider transport strategy. To issue tickets on parking restrictions like yellow lines, a new team will consist of 35 on-street civil parking enforcement officers (CEOs) and four off-street CEOs, who will deal with council-run car parks. It will be headed by four senior CEOs and one team leader. There will be four response teams, who will be able to act immediately upon reports from the public about illegal parking. Tensor plc is quite happy with the responsibility of handling unauthorised parking on private property. The company deals in many methods of access control and barrier technology. You can control access to your site’s entrance with our automatic barriers, bollards, gates, turnstiles and parking posts. All posts come with a two-year warranty and can be produced in your company colours for total branding. A complete and easy to use employee and barrier access control smart card system will handle access for both individuals and their vehicles.

Smart cards are the clocking solution to win your vote

Police had to be called in at least four places and voters staged sit-ins in protest at being denied their right to vote in the spring general election. In some cases local polling stations were said to have run out of ballot papers, while in others they were unable to get all those who wanted to vote into booths in time. There were reports of voters being turned away in many towns and cities (including Sheffield, Birmingham and Liverpool). According to the Electoral Commission, at least 1,200 people lost their votes on May 6. This is probably an underestimate because it is based on figures provided by returning officers and does not include Liverpool. Tensor company Time and Attendance UK's state of the art smart card and biometric systems and software are guaranteed to meet your time and attendance requirements. Up to 15 times faster than equivalent swipe card technology, smart cards are the clocking solution to win your vote. The inbuilt report generator makes it simple to get both real-time and archived information. Fingerprint recognition systems, which provide irrefutable identification of an employee or visitor, are also available to compliment the smart cards.

Tensor can keep your home secure in the heat wave

As we currently bask in a hot summer spell it is tempting to leave windows open to cool the house down. But this is leading to a spate of burglaries. For example, thieves fled in a green Golf after stealing the keys from a home in Drayton, Hampshire, overnight. The car was later found abandoned with a punctured tyre on the nearby M275. Seventeen break-ins happened in one area in two days when temperatures peaked. Police warn that homes with alleyways at the side or back are particularly vulnerable. Residents are being urged to make sure windows and doors are properly locked every time they leave the house, go into the garden or to bed. Tensor plc can help residents with a range of security devices. We are the top UK installer and maintenance service provider of digital CCTV camera and recording surveillance systems, using the right equipment for your requirements and needs, manufactured by Panasonic, Wavestore and many more. Our camera lenses are high quality construction for smooth adjustment and long service life. We also install contactless smart card access control systems which power any electronic door, barrier or gate you choose – these systems are especially effective for larger buildings or sites.

Tensor technology would make music venues safe and secure

The provision of safety and security at summer music festivals – or indeed any public indoor or outdoor event – is paramount. For example, the Glastonbury Festival which finished last weekend, had just one reported crime per 440 people. Thefts from tents, 230, numbered the vast majority of crimes; and 117 people were arrested during the festival. Most were dealt with at the police's temporary custody unit at the Bath and West Showground. The policing approach of officers engaging with the public paid off. The softly, softly approach plus the technical know-how of Tensor plc can be a winning security combination. Our comprehensive array of Access Control and Time and Attendance devices will usher through venue users and customers in the fastest possible way, using smart cards; while providing an effective and secure method of entry. Our contactless smart card readers are the access control solution for the 21st century, being about 15 times faster than fussier swipe cards. The system can be upgraded to biometric sub-dermal recognition to compliment the smart cards, providing a double layer of security; as well as integrated with a surveillance network.

Smart cards meet security needs if police resources cut

Police spending cuts could hamper the fight against crime in England and Wales, the Chief Inspector of Constabulary has warned. The Chief Inspector said a "total redesign" of how officers work, such as shift patterns, could save 12%. He said further cuts would hit police availability "unless it was prioritised over everything else". The analysis of the future of policing comes in a joint report from the Chief Inspector, Sir Denis O'Connor, the Audit Commission (which covers England) and the Wales Audit Office – just as spending on policing faces a drop by a quarter in national debt-busting measures. Tensor can provide your organisation with a sophisticated access control system guaranteed to improve your security requirements if police resources are cut. Access Lite is the entry-level package of our range of proven Windows™ based access control systems which bar entry to unauthorised personnel. It comprises a complete smart card access control system, and includes sophisticated software for monitoring access patterns, alarm status, and detecting forced entries. It is ideal for smaller companies with less than 250 employees or made up of many small sites, and comes with 50 smart cards.

Effective security solutions to falling police patrol numbers

Members of the public worried about the effect of cuts in the recent emergency budget on front line policing levels can be reassured as Tensor has a range of effective and affordable solutions. The policing minister, Nick Herbert, said "extensive cuts" to the police budget were inevitable but maintained that frontline posts should be protected. He said: "We do look to police chiefs to prioritise and protect the front line. The people's priority is to see police officers in their communities.” Studies estimate that a 25% cut in the Home Office budget would involve the loss of 35,000 police officers. We are bound to have answers to your security needs. Our companies produce smart card and biometric Time and Attendance, Visitor Monitoring and Access Control technologies to form a complete and unrivalled site security network for your business. Security devices will bar unwelcome visitors but provide fast throughput

A football fan was accused of trespass after he entered the dressing room at the World Cup on the night of England's 0-0 draw against Algeria. The episode, which happened minutes after Princes William and Harry left the changing room, prompted the Football Association to make an official complaint to World Cup organiser, Fifa. Life-long England and Manchester United supporter, Pavlos Joseph, from Crystal Palace, London, said he addressed the players, who were sitting on benches with towels around their waists. Joseph added later that he reached the dressing room after being given wrong directions. Tensor products can help businesses with rising staff costs

The Government have just confirmed increases to the national minimum wage, which will see the adult rate rise to £5.93 an hour on October 1. The 13p rise was proposed by the previous Labour government, as well as a 9p hike in the rate for 18- to 20-year-olds to £4.92 and a 7p increase for 16- and 17-year-olds to £3.64. The Government added that the remit of the Low Pay Commission for making future recommendations will include paying particular attention to the competitiveness of small firms and the employment prospects of young people. Products from Tensor’s companies can help businesses whose staffing costs will go up this autumn when the minimum wage increase kicks in. The time and attendance smart card hardware and software will make the jobs of your payroll more efficient and simple, as well as being the quickest way for employees to clock in and out. Complex payment schemes can be used, based on factors such as the time of working to the grade of employee. The time and attendance system can be combined with a biometric access control system to give your firm a totally networked and integrated security regime.

Security technology helps police clamp down on anti-social behaviour

Police have reported that a crime clampdown campaign based on reinforcing front line resources is a resounding success in terms of results and public support. The force has identified reductions in almost every crime level in Fife, particularly in the area of public disorder where there was a down turn of 22 per cent. Offences also reduced in the areas of vandalism, which is down by 18 per cent and petty assaults, which is down by 13 per cent. It is not surprising that the report said that 85 per cent of the public surveyed want these operations to continue as they see crime shrink across the Scottish force area. Tensor plc can help drive crime downward with its range of security technology. Smart card based Access Control systems can control any door, plus any electronically-powered barrier such as a turnstile, gate or automatic bollard. The smart cards need not be removed from a wallet or purse to be used. The set-up can be used for a single door, so is affordable for anyone; or it can be ranged over a network of sites or buildings. Furthermore, state-of-the-art bespoke CCTV systems are available for purchase from our company to monitor and deter incidents of anti-social behaviour or vandalism.
