The Government have just confirmed increases to the national minimum wage, which will see the adult rate rise to £5.93 an hour on October 1. Police had to be called in at least four places and voters staged sit-ins in protest at being denied their right to vote in the spring general election. Under a radical overhaul, Cardiff council has taken over the enforcement of most of the parking laws from South Wales Police as part of a wider transport strategy.
