Tensor Helps Laleham Health & Beauty Monitor Staff Attendance

Laleham Healthcare Ltd is a leading product development and contract services provider to the health & beauty industry, and is part of DCC Health & Beauty Solutions.

The company supplies a diverse range of personal care, toiletries, topical health and pharmaceutical products and services. Their customers include leading premium brands, mail order companies, global health and beauty retailers and grocery multiples. The company is part of DCC plc, a sales, marketing and business support services group focused on the healthcare, energy, IT, food & beverage and environmental markets.

The successful commercial relationship between Tensor and Laleham Healthcare started when the first Tensor time and attendance system was installed at the company's original site in Alton, Hampshire. However, a few years later, Laleham Healthcare moved to a purpose built factory located in the same area, that offers 17,000m² spanning production lines, manufacturing, materials and line feed warehousing. More recently, they've added a second site, a MHRA licensed warehouse located in Basingstoke.

For this reason, the Tensor system was also updated and extended, the activity of all the members of staff working on the company's two sites being now supervised from a single central location.

The Tensor solution implemented on the Laleham Healthcare premises features multiple smart card scanners and electromagnetic door locks/releases, allowing users to clock in or out, but also restricting access to specific areas of the sites.

The company also opted for a complex software package, featuring Tensor's WinTA Enterprise and Personnel Enterprise modules, which enable a superior workforce management level.

WinTA Enterprise edition is a complete smart card time and attendance system including European Working Time Regulations checking and reporting that has been specifically designed for companies managing multiple sites.

The suite supports a variety of features managers will really appreciate, such as absenteeism & lateness reporting and Access Control with graphic maps and email alerts for all types of door, barriers, turnstiles & gates.

Other important features include a powerful Graphical Absence Planner application, online self-service module that offers users access to a variety of functions (remote clocking, etc.), as well as the possibility to easily and seamlessly export attendance data to various payroll software packages, among other things.

Right now, the system is used specifically for personnel management tasks, as well as time and attendance and managing access to specific areas, Mr. Louis Conlon, the company Network and PC Administrator, revealed to the Tensor reporter.

Although he hasn't received any specific training on the system, which was already up and running when he joined the company, Mr. Conlon got used to it fairly quickly, so he believes that it's "easy to use", adding that "I'm pretty happy with it". However, he does admit that "I'm not sure, but the system isn't likely used at its full potential right now".

Ever since he took charge of the Tensor system, Mr. Conlon did have to get in touch with the Tensor help desk service a few times : "The tech support service was normally very good. We've had some minor issues with the software applications, but everything was sorted out remotely, in an efficient manner."

Since he's had a relatively good experience with the Tensor system, the Laleham Healthcare Network Administrator believes that its best feature is the level of reliability it delivers. "The system is very good in general. It's quite reliable, that's what I like most about it" he told the Tensor reporter.

When asked whether he would recommend Tensor to other companies, Mr. Conlon's answer was a definite "Yes".

Summing up, Mr. Conlon believes that the relationship between Tensor and Laleham Healthcare is "generally good", also adding that he's "happy with the system".
